We find a film based on the life and career of Broadway star Fanny Brice. Barbara Streisand won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Funny Girl.
We find the first interracial kiss on television. The kiss was on "Star Trek" between Capt. Kirk and Uhura. NBC executives were concerned it would anger TV stations in the Deep South, but their concerns were unfounded.
And we find a song on the radio by Steppenwolf. Lead singer John Kay wrote the lyrics and melody in 20 minutes.
