The goal is to help increase tree cover inside the city of Portland. People living within Portland city limits are eligible for up to two free trees to plant on private property. Advance registration is required at portland.gov/free-yard-trees. With record breaking heat again this year, the need for more trees and shaded areas in the city has become more apparent.
