Researchers at Oregon State University are teaming up with a Portland-based truck manufacturer to develop a new type of semi-truck that will produce zero emissions and be able to carry as much cargo as a traditional diesel-powered commercial motor vehicle. Portland based Daimler Trucks North America will partner with OSU to design a hydrogen fuel cell truck tractor that uses advanced electrical propulsion and artificial intelligence research to have a 600-mile range, a 25,000-hour cell life and a cargo capacity equal to that of a traditional semi-truck. If this is successful it will be a game changer for the entire trucking industry. Full story here courtesy of kezi.com.
