A resident died in a duplex fire early Saturday morning in Forest Grove.
When firefighters arrived flames had broken through the front window.
Firefighters searched the building as the fire was being put out and found an unconscious person. They attempted life-saving measures, but the 67-year-old man died at the scene.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
The duplex did not have a working smoke detector.
