The Seattle Mariners played the Oakland A's in Japan. That's not the big story...rather, 45-year-old Ichiro Suzuki retired today. It was an incredibly special moment in the bottom of the 8th when he took his place in right field...and the Mariners' manager pulled the rest of the team off the field, allowing Ichiro to walk off alone, acknowledging a standing ovation waving to his countrymen and women. The ovation went on for several minutes. Can you say Baseball Hall of Fame will be in his future? Sure can! As an added bonus, the Mariners beat the Oakland A's 5-4 in extra innings. Congrats, Ichiro...you were always fun to watch!
