Man Saves Girls Life After Car Crashes Into Home

A good Samaritan with no medical experience became a hero by saving a little girl after a car crashed into her New Salem, New Hampshire, home.Scott Demers was fixing sprinklers at a nearby house when he heard the chaos that turned out to be a car barrelling through a house.

The car hit a mailbox, launching it inside the house, where it hit five-year-old Giuliana Tutrone, leaving her with serious injuries. Her father,Joseph, ran outside with her, yelling for help and Demers rushed into action to save her. The girl was bleeding from the neck, so he used his shirt to stop the bleeding until she was life-flighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She had emergency surgery for injuries including several deep facial cuts and a broken jaw, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Joseph says he was in a panic and didn’t know what to do to help his daughter and he’s grateful for Demers stepping in. “I don’t have the most inviting appearance sometimes,” Demers says. “Heroes don’t always wear capes, I guess.”
