It is bitter cold in Chicagoland today as temperatures dipped down below zero overnight.
It's not just the cold, its also very windy! Intense waves are crashing against the shoreline of Lake Michigan, and fears of more erosion are being realized.
Specifically in northwest Indiana, the massive swells are set to reach as high as 18 feet. The waves are causing major erosion, destroying beaches and making beachfront homeowners extremely nervous. With 40 mph wind gusts, and the lake already clocking it at 3 feet above average, it seems like a perfect storm.
