Gold Beach Woman Swept Away By Wave

UPDATE: The body of Karen Dunlap was recovered Friday from the Rogue River.

A Gold Beach woman is missing and it's believed she was swept away by a large wave.

57-year-old Karen Dunlap, of Gold Beach, was walking on the shore of the South Jetty of the Rogue River Thursday evening when she went missing.

A surf advisory is in effect through Friday at 11 p.m. and police believe she was swept away by a large wave.

The Coast Guard ended its search in the ocean Friday morning. The Oregon State Police, Gold Beach Police and the Curry County Sheriff's Office searched the shore.
