Oregon Humane Society Adoptions Increased In 2023

On New Year's Eve, Oregon Humane Society marked the last adoptions of the year and an incredible milestone.

Together, OHS’ Portland and Salem campuses found homes for 11,574 pets in 2023. This is the first time adoptions have surpassed 11,000 since 2019.

In Salem, Baz the cat was the final adoption of 2023. This four-year-old brown tabby came to OHS Salem campus when he was not getting along with the other cat in his previous home. Today, he found the purrfect home where he will be king of the castle.

At OHS’ Portland Campus, Milo, a one-year-old pittie mix was the final adoption. Milo came to OHS from Josephine County through the Second Chance Program. His adopter, Eric, was drawn to Milo’s endearing floppy ear and joyful energy.

OHS’ Portland and Salem campuses are closed to the public on Monday, Jan. 1 but will reopen regular hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
