Wednesday morning, a member of the Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Reaction Team was injured during a training exercise.

The 23-year-veteran of the Portland Police Bureau was holding a flashbang (stun grenade) in his hand when it exploded, causing a non-life-threatening hand injury.

The officer was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.

The Portland Police Bureau is conducting a review of the incident to determine how it occurred.

The name of the officer will be released at a later time.
