In the capsule today…

We find George Carlin hosting the first episode of “NBC's Saturday Night.” The show would later be renamed Saturday Night Live.

We find a comedy-western film produced by Disney. The "Apple Dumpling Gang" features a no-so-slick gambler named Russell Donovan, played by Bill Bixby.

And on the radio we find the song “Fame” by David Bowie. John Lennon helped to write the song… and even penned the song title... and sang the background "Fame" parts in the high voice.
