In the capsule today…

We find Ohio posting up highway signs using the metric system, the first state to do so. However, no amount of effort, including campy jingles, have convinced Americans of the merits of metric.

We find the "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. The match still holds the record for largest U.S. audience to see a tennis match. Though Bobby talked a big game, Billie Jean demolished him on the court in three sets.

And we find Aerosmith releasing a single from their self-titled album. Though "Dream On" saved the band from being dropped by their record label, the song was not initially a big hit until it was re-released two years later.
