We find the Rubik's Cube making its international debut at The British Toy and Hobby Fair. To date, over 350 million cubes have been sold, making it the world's top-selling puzzle game.

And we find a song on the radio by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Tom didn’t care for the song, and almost gave it to The J. Geils Band, who he was touring with. However, producer Jimmy Iovine persuaded Tom to record it, and the song became the group's first Top 10 hit.
