In the capsule today…

We find Bob Marley shot in an assassination attempt in Kingston, Jamaica. Two days later he performed at a live show. When asked why so soon, Marley replied, "The people who are trying to make the world worse are not taking a day off. How can I?"

We find the completion of the CN Tower in Toronto Canada. It remained the tallest “free-standing land structure” until The Burj Khalifa took the record decades later.

And we find a song on the radio by Elton John. Elton recorded his part of “Don't Go Breaking My Heart” in Toronto, and then mailed the tape to London where Kiki Dee recorded her vocals. It became Elton's first number one song.
