Carson Time Capsule... Wednesday, November 25th.

In the capsule today…

We find the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge was closed to automobile traffic in celebration, and pedestrians were welcomed to cross the bridge. However, crowd control measures were not put in place, over 800,000 people showed up, and the center span of the bridge shockingly flattened under the weight!

We find a new outrageous sit-com on FOX that becomes the longest lasting live-action show on the network. “Married with Children” follows the suburban Chicago life of Al Bundy, a once-glorious high school football player, turned hard-luck women's shoe salesman.

And we find a song on the radio by Eric Carmen. Eric was down on his luck, and had just moved back to Ohio from Los Angeles after giving up on a singing career. His old producer called and asked for a last favor… to sing a track for an upcoming movie. The film became a surprise hit, and the soundtrack to “Dirty Dancing” sold 15 million albums.

What is the year? (answer below).
