We find Sally Ride making history as the first American woman in space aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. Sally also remains the youngest astronaut to have made the trip to space, at the age of 32.
And we find a song on the radio by Duran Duran. The band used "Rio" as a metaphor for America, expressing their desire to succeed here.
