Carson Time Capsule... Monday, March 22nd.

In the time capsule today…

We find the made-for-television film “Little House on the Prairie” making its debut on NBC. The movie served as the pilot to the TV series, and was based on the autobiographical children's novel by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Michael Landon directs and stars.

We find the opening of “The Expo World's Fair” in Spokane, Washington. President Nixon presided over the fair's opening ceremony, which drew a crowd of 85,000 people, including a few hecklers.

And we find “Band On The Run” on the radio by Paul McCartney and Wings. The line “If we ever get out of here” was inspired by a comment George Harrison made years earlier in a ponderous record company meeting.
