Carson Time Capsule... Thursday, June 17th.

In the time capsule today…

We find a hot new electronic toy on the market from Texas Instruments. “Speak and Spell” consisted of a speech synthesizer, a keyboard, and plug-in word libraries.

We find a Monty Python movie in theaters. The Life of Brian was very controversial at the time, drawing accusations of blasphemy and protests from some religious groups. The film was even banned in some countries, including Ireland and Norway.

And we find a song on the radio by Fleetwood Mac. The song's title was the name Stevie Nicks gave to her unborn child with Don Henley, before she decided to terminate the pregnancy. Stevie was furious that Henley made the song origins public, and only confirmed the story in 2014, speaking with Billboard magazine.
