Carson Time Capsule... Tuesday, August 3rd.

In the time capsule today…

We get the sad news of Bob Marley’s passing after a battle with a rare skin cancer. His final words to son Ziggy were "Money can't buy life.”

We find a film about a drunken New York billionaire looking for love. Dudley Moore stars in “Arthur,” and was supposed to perform the role with an American accent. But he had great trouble with it, and convinced the director to use his natural English accent instead.

And we find a song on the radio by Soft Cell. The song is a remake of a 1964 B-side track by Gloria Jones. The band recorded it as a "throwaway cover song," and “Tainted Love” became their biggest and only hit.
