In the time capsule today…

We find the debut of the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. The brand name was originally set to be Railpax, but two weeks before operations began, the name was changed to Amtrak.

We find astronauts David Scott and James Irwin driving on the moon with the Apollo 15 Lunar Roving Vehicle.

And we find a song on the radio by Al Green. Al did a hundred vocal takes before he got one he liked, and even then didn’t think the song was a hit. “Let's Stay Together” went to number one on the charts, and became an R&B classic.
