A Tri-Met bus driver was stabbed in the abdomen after a confrontation with an unknown man outside a driver break room at S.E. 94th and Foster Rd., under I-205. He suspect fled on foot, heading westbound on Foster. Now the transit agency is offering a $1,000 reward to the person who provides the tip that leads to an arrest and prosecution of a suspect.

Police patrolled the area but could not find the suspect. No images of the suspect were captured on Tri-Met surveillance cameras. He is described as follows:

  • White male
  • Mid-30s
  • About 5’9”
  • Medium weight
  • Medium length brown hair
  • Unshaven with scars on face
  • Unique black and white “checker board” tattoo covering front of neck.
  • Was wearing black pants and a green t-shirt

This is the second stabbing of a Tri-Met bus driver in recent months but the cases do not appear to be connected. The first attack happened in April on a bus near S.E. 92nd and Flavel, not far from the scene of Wednesday's stabbing. The description of the April stabbing suspect:

  • African American male in his 30s
  • 5’9″ tall
  • Beard
  • Wearing a black and red coat, brown pants and a stocking cap
  • Possibly a transient
